Monthly Utility Rates Increased January 1, 2012

INCREASE IN MONTHLY UTILITY RATES
The monthly utility rates in the City of Cranbrook increased on January 1, 2012 as follows:

Water & Sewer rates for non-residential users, including users with metered accounts, have increased proportionately.

2012 SEWER FRONTAGE TAXES

The sewer frontage tax rate for 2012 will increase from $3.00 to $5.00 per meter of taxable frontage.  This amount will be included on your 2012 Property Tax Notice issued in May 2012.

UTILITY VACANCY REBATES

Trailer courts or multi-residential complexes (two or more suites) are eligible for a rebate of the water, sewer and solid waste utility fees for any unit that is vacant for the current billing period. Vacancy application forms are available at City Hall.  For further information, please call (250) 426-4211.

2012 WATER, SEWER AND SOLID WASTE UTILITY ACCOUNTS

A discount of 5% will be granted on all 2012 Utility Accounts paid for the year and received at City Hall on or before February 29, 2012.

2012 PRE-AUTHORIZED PAYMENT OF WATER, SEWER AND SOLID WASTE UTILITY ACCOUNTS

Try the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for your bi-monthly utility bill.  This plan is convenient and avoids late payment fees.  For those already on the pre-authorized payment plan, please note your bi-monthly payment amount will automatically increase to reflect the 2012 utility rates.

The bi-monthly payments are made through your bank by pre-authorized debits on the 1st day of every 2nd month commencing February 1, 2012.
