Jon Klemm – Stanley Cup Winner 1996 and 2001 with the Colorado Avalanche
Jon was born and raised in Cranbrook and is currently serving as the assistant coach for the Western Hockey League team the Spokane Chiefs in Spokane, Washington where he had also played as a member of the same team.
At the start of his NHL career, prior to winning the Memorial Cup in 1991 as a Spokane Chief, Jon signed as a free agent with the then Quebec Nordiques, which later moved to Colorado. He has played on the Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars.
On August 20, 2007 Jon signed for the Los Angeles Kings as a free agent. However, on September 28, 2007, he was assigned to the Kings' AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, where he served as captain.
In 2008 he played as a defenseman in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga for the Straubing Tigers.
