F.J.
Hurtak GM of the Kootenay Concert Connection said “We feel very
fortunate to have acquired the services of one of country music’s
greatest and memorable artists. April 27th will indeed be
a very special night, with one very special artist”. Chris New the
Leisure Development Manager at the Rec Plex, is co-producing the
show with Hurtak for the City of Cranbrook and echoed Hurtak’s
sentiments by saying “We are doing this show in the concert bowl
with 1850 seats with the stage facing the luxury suites, so everyone
is going to get a great view and great sound. I would encourage
people to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment as this
show will surely be a sellout. This is a once in a lifetime
opportunity to see and hear a remarkable world renowned talent, and
certainly with 24 people in the Travis entourage and three full size
tour busses this will probably be one of the biggest country shows,
if not the biggest, our area has ever seen.”
The Cranbrook Rec Plex and Kootenay Concert Connections are pleased
to announce the opening act for Randy Travis’ Around The Bend Tour.
It is the most nominated female artist of 2009 from the Canadian
Country Music Awards…Victoria Banks. Banks was nominated for
Canadian Female Country Artist of the Year, Rising Star, Album of
the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Producer of the
Year. Her debut album “When you can Fly” is in stores now, and she
has been labeled a new sensation in Canadian Music. Victoria Banks
is not only a polished singer but is described by Nashvilles Music
Row Magazine as one of the best songwriters in the business, having
co-written Jessica Simpsons smash hit “Come on Over”, Sara Evans hit
“Saints and Angels”, and Johnny Reids “Dance With Me”.
Victoria is a master songwriter, but you haven’t heard a Victoria
Banks song until you’ve heard her sing it. She makes her music come
alive with a uniquely passionate voice which will take you from
elation to tears and back again. She is perfectly at home on stage
and has been described as a true entertainer.
