Cranbrook, BC (August 12, 2019) -- Water utility customers can expect to experience some water discolouration periodically, as the City of Cranbrook resumes its annual water main flushing program today . Flushing will generally happen between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday for the duration of the program.
Flushing will start this afternoon from Edgewood Driver to 7th Street South between 27A Avenue South and 29th Avenue South.
Most customers may experience discolouration in the water for a short period while this flushing work is done. If you do have discolouration, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.
The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment in order to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business. The City will provide updates regularly, so you know where the flushing program is moving to next.
The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important program is completed.
