Cranbrook, BC (May 26, 2017) – Temporary detours and closures will begin on 2nd Street South on Monday, as Mackay Contracting begins preparing for the reconstruction of the street.
Mackay crews will begin work by milling the asphalt between Van Horne and 10th Avenue South. Residents, visitors and those working downtown who may park on 2nd Street South must move their vehicles before 7:30am on Monday May 29th.
The area will be well signed and flag personnel will be on site directing traffic. Please respect and obey all signage and direction of the flaggers. It is so important for drivers to be aware of their presence. Please slow down to give these personnel the space they need to be safe.
The City of Cranbrook is committed not only to the safety of the public but to the safety of our staff. Thank you for remembering their safety as well as your own as you drive through construction zones.
The City appreciates the patience and understanding of the public as this road work is completed.
