City Recognized For Efforts To Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Cranbrook, BC (November 18, 2016) -- As a signatory to the Climate Action Charter, the City of Cranbrook has demonstrated its commitment to work with the Province and the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) to take action on climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in your corporate operations and the broader community.
The joint Provincial-UBCM Green Communities Committee (GCC) has established the multi-level Climate Action Recognition Program as a way of acknowledging the progress and efforts being taken by local government leaders as they work to achieve their climate goals.
As a Charter signatory who has achieved Level 1 recognition and additionally completed a corporate carbon inventory for the 2015 reporting year and demonstrated familiarity with the Community Energy and Emissions Inventory, the City of Cranbrook has been awarded Level 2 recognition – ‘Measurement.’
