Garry Anderson – 2008 Officer of the Order of Canada for the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel
Garry was born and raised in Cranbrook. Garry has raised awareness of, and appreciation for, the architectural and historical uniqueness of Canada's railway heritage. He was a driving force behind the creation of the Cranbrook Archives, Museum and Landmark Foundation, and founded the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, where he currently serves as executive director.
Thanks to his unrelenting efforts and steadfast dedication, this museum is now one of the most important of its kind in North America, showcasing an unparalleled collection of historic railway passenger cars. His initiatives have provided important economic and cultural development for Cranbrook.
