All Normal Regular Flight Schedules Expected To Resume Tuesday
Cranbrook, BC (September 4, 2017 @ 2:30pm) – All regular flights to and from Calgary and Vancouver through the Canadian Rockies International Airport are expected to back on their normal schedules starting on Tuesday.
The decision was made following an assessment of the St. Mary's River fire by both the Ministry of Forests and NAVCAN late this morning. Both NAVCAN and the Ministry of Forests will continue to monitor the St. Mary's River fire and may make further changes if fire conditions change.
Air Canada cancelled all of their Monday morning flights to and from Calgary through the Canadian Rockies International Airport. Air Canada now confirms it will be bringing in a larger aircraft to get people to Calgary at 6:30pm MT today (Monday September 4) instead of the 4:00pm service reported earlier.
It is still strongly advised you contact your airline directly to get the latest information on your flight status before you travel to the airport.
The Canadian Rockies International Airport and the City of Cranbrook will continue to monitor this situation and will share any updates as soon as possible if the situation changes.
