Accessibility and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Framework 

In alignment with the BC Accessibility Act and the City’s Strategic Plan, staff have developed the Accessibility and DEI Framework. There is more work to be done in this area, and city employees will continue to engage community members to ensure an inclusive process in developing our community. Your feedback matters and we look forward to your input.

Feedback Mechanism

The City is part of the Regional District of East Kootenay's (RDEK) regional Accessibility Committee. The committe works together to develop a best practices approach to accessibility initiatives and programs across the region. This committee provides recommendations to guide City operations and ensure improved accessibility to the public.

In addition, residents can directly contact the City's Diveristy, Equity, and Inclusion Committee with any and all concerns regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by contacting [email protected], using the 311 app, or phoning 311.
