Cranbrook, BC (June 4, 2024) – With temperatures set to become more summer-like over the next few days, the City of Cranbrook reminds residents, visitors, and those most vulnerable in our community that there are spaces available to cool off and get a reprieve, if you need to.
Each year the City, through the Cranbrook Public Library and Western Financial Place provide opportunities for people to escape the heat, or the cold in the winter months. Both the Cranbrook Public Library and Western Financial Place will act as cooling centres for those who need get out of the heat this summer. Both facilities will be open during regular operating hours for those who need it.
The outdoor water fountains at both Idlewild and Rotary Park are operating for the season, as is the spray park at Rotary Park for those who wish to cool off.
