Cranbrook, BC (July 14, 2025) – City of Cranbrook Fire Chief Scott Driver has been awarded the prestigious Meritorious Achievement Award by the Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia (FCABC).
Chief Driver received the award back in June at the 94th Annual FCABC Conference and Education Summit in Penticton. At Monday night’s Council meeting, Council congratulated Chief Driver on the honour, which recognizes a Fire Chief who has made a significant contribution to fire prevention, emergency response, and public safety across the province.
“We’re incredibly proud of Chief Driver. This recognition highlights his dedication to public safety and the respect he’s earned across B.C. It’s an honour very well deserved,” says Mayor Wayne Price.
Over the past six years, Chief Driver has shown outstanding leadership both locally and provincially. He has served as Director of the Kootenay Boundary Region (Zone 4), where he organized regional training opportunities, and actively participated in key committees, including wildfire mitigation and fire prevention.
His commitment to collaboration and community safety has made a lasting impact across the region, and across the province.
