Cranbrook, BC (June 30, 2024) – Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at Amy Woodland Elementary School early Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Initial crews responded to the scene after the call was received around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday. All available firefighting crews responded to the school and extinguished the flames.
As a result of the fire, the school suffered significant damage, especially to the gymnasium.
No injuries were reported. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services thank the RCMP, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, and BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) for their quick response and assistance to control the fire.
