Cranbrook, BC (October 7, 2026) -- Early detection and a quick response helped minimize damage to a local business overnight.
At 3:51 am on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, fire crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a restaurant in the 1000 block of Baker Street and quickly extinguished a fire in the kitchen area.
Four on-duty members of Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services responded from the station with two apparatus, and six additional members responded from home to assist. An investigation determined the fire was not suspicious. No injuries were reported.
