Cranbrook, BC (February 24, 2025) -- In an effort to help increase accessibility to City information, services, and programs, all of the City of Cranbrook’s websites now offer translation services into over a dozen different languages.
This initiative is an important step forward in making meaningful progress in improving accessibility to important public information to an ever more diverse population. This translation project was also identified as a barrier to the public during the City’s ongoing work on its Accessibility and Inclusion Framework.
Whether you are visiting the City’s main website www.cranbrook.ca, Western Financial Place @ www.westernfinancialplace.ca or the Canadian Rockies International Airport @ flycanadianrockies.com, you now have a choice to easily change to one of 13 different available languages.
The available languages include: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Ukrainian, traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Thai, Arabic and Malayalam. Language data made available from the 2022 National Census identified that these are the most common languages spoken within the community.
