Cranbrook, BC (October 7, 2024) – As we move into the colder months, we will be keeping public washrooms open for you until the week of October 15, 2024 – weather permitting - when they will start being shut down for the winter.
Although the weather is still warmer during the day currently, the evenings and overnights are regularly getting close to freezing which can cause water lines in these facilities to freeze. Crews will be starting to shut off the water and blow out the lines at Gyro Park and Lionsview Park at the Kinsmen Spray Park this week.
Washrooms at Rotary Park, and the lower outhouse building at Idlewild Park are the only two public washroom facilities that will remain open for use throughout the winter months. The hours the Rotary Park washrooms will be open will be 8am to 7pm daily until Remembrance Day, after which hours will be reduced to 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday through the winter.
