Cranbrook, BC (April 29, 2024) – Operators of the Mount Baker RV Campground are pushing forward to have the gates open to visitors starting Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
The opening date has been delayed slightly in part because of challenges completing the new water service for the campground. Water crews with Public Works needed to be pulled off the project temporarily to deal with a significant emergency water infrastructure repair on 7th Street South last Thursday, April 25, 2024. Public Works expects the work will be completed early this week.
Clean up and landscaping by City Parks crews may take a little bit longer but will not impact the opening and operation of the campground.
The online reservation system for the Mount Baker RV Campground should be coming online in the next few days. Until then, any inquiries about the campground, or to book a spot, please call or text 778-687-4833 or email [email protected].
On April 22, 2024, the City announced the contract was awarded to Gavin Thomas and Nicole Wall, to manage, operate, and maintain the Mount Baker RV Campground as a no-service campground, other than a wash building and sani-dump, with no individual camping pad water or sewer. There will be power hookups at most of the sites.
The campground will have a restriction on the length of stay of seven (7) days, with no back-to-back bookings.
