Cranbrook, BC (October 5, 2026) – Victoria Avenue will be closed between 8th Street North and Kootenay Street from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. overnight on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 while contractors’ complete water, sewer and storm sewer connection tie-ins.
This is part of servicing for the new Colbrook Properties development at 2000 8th Street North, a planned five-story, 49-unit housing project for independent seniors.

Victoria Avenue will reopen to traffic at 6 a.m. after the closure. Drivers should use an alternate route, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel. Anyone travelling near the work area is reminded to please slow down and watch for roadside workers.
A second overnight closure of this same section of Victoria Avenue is tentatively planned for the coming days, when this area will be repaved. We will share the date of this closure well in advance.
The City appreciates the patience and understanding of drivers, residents, and businesses in the area while this work is completed.
