Cranbrook, BC (June 18, 2024) -- The City, in partnership with WATT Consulting Group is currently developing the Cranbrook Community Electric Vehicle Charging Plan. The plan will explore opportunities to improve electric vehicle charging assets in Cranbrook by expanding opportunities for publicly accessible charging infrastructure and introducing new policy and guidance for conversion to more sustainable fuel sources.
We invite you to share your voice and help guide this project by taking the online survey here: https://survey.alchemer-ca.com/s3/50262231/City-of-Cranbrook-Community-EV-Charging-Plan. The survey closes at midnight on Friday, July 5, 2024.
“The number of electric vehicles on the road is increasing rapidly in BC, and according to the BC ZEV Act, 100 percent of all new light duty vehicles sold in 2035 and beyond will be zero emissions,” says Evan Berry, Environment and Energy Specialist with the City. “We want to ensure that Cranbrook is prepared for the continued shift to electric vehicles, and we need your feedback to help make it happen.”
The survey should take between 10 to 15 minutes to complete. All responses will be kept confidential and anonymous. Participants can also choose to enter for a chance to win a $50 gift card for Encore Brewing Company upon completing the survey.
The survey feedback will help the City achieve two key outcomes: understand where new publicly accessible electric vehicle stations should be placed, and help inform the types of policy tools the City can consider to help accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Cranbrook.
This is an important effort in order to help meet the City’s goals in reducing emissions and pollution – a priority of this Council highlighted in the 2024 – 2027 Strategic Plan - https://cranbrook.ca/our-city/city-departments/office-of-cao/2024-2027-strategic-plan/.
