Cranbrook, BC (May 6, 2025) – As the warmer, sunny weather returns, so does the overall water usage across the City of Cranbrook. Over the past few days, Public Works has noticed a significant increase in the amount of water being used each day as people begin to do more work outside in their gardens and yards.
Please remember that the City is under Stage 1 water restrictions. That means even numbered addresses may water Monday, Thursday or Saturday; odd numbered addresses may water Tuesday, Friday or Sunday to a maximum of two (2) hours between 5am and 10am OR 8pm and 11pm – not both!
We have seen some challenging conditions the past two years putting a lot of pressure on the City’s potable water supply. Public Works is closely monitoring the overall water use while also monitoring the inflow level of water into the Phillips Reservoir. Remember, just because it may be your day to be able to water, does not mean you must water. Water only when you absolutely must and only water on the days and times you are allowed to.
