Cranbrook, BC (September 15, 2025) – Public Works is undertaking two small but important projects on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 to improve safety and recreation in the community.
A dead tree located in front of the Cranbrook RCMP detachment on 11th Avenue South is scheduled to be removed. Work will begin at around 8:00 a.m. and it is expected to take about five hours. During this time, the parking stalls immediately beside the tree and the sidewalk will be closed to allow crews to safely complete the removal. The tree has been identified as a hazard and must be taken down.
Public Works staff will also begin removing the swing set at Rotary Park. A new swing set is on the way and will be installed in the coming weeks. While the swing set area will be fenced off during removal and replacement, the rest of the playground at Rotary Park will remain open and available to play on.
The City of Cranbrook appreciates the public’s patience as these projects are completed, helping ensure both safety and enjoyment of community spaces.
