Baker Park is located at the corners of 1st street south 14th ave south and was named after Colonel James Baker, one the first settlers in Cranbrook, who was instrumental in the development of the area and making Cranbrook the trading hub for the East Kootenays. Baker Park is an open green space with a portion of the paved rotary trail running through it and is adjacent to Mount Baker RV Park and St. James Creek. Baker Park is surrounded by mature trees that provide shade to the numerous picnic tables lining the edge of the park. Baker park is also an outdoor public ice rink during the winter months. Baker Park is located at the corner of 1st street South and 14th Ave South, which is one of Cranbrooks main arteries and centrally located near numerous residential neighborhoods.
Both Baker Park and Pop Price Park have an outdoor rink that is lit up at night until 10:00pm. The park is maintained by the City for the public to enjoy. Stop by for a lunchtime game of shinny or an after dinner skate.
