Cranbook
Cranbrook, BC (December 20, 2022) -- The Provincial Emergency Program through the City of Cranbrook provides supports to third-party groups and non-profit organizations in order to provide warming shelters for those in need.
Due to the extreme cold forecast for the next few nights, the First Baptist Church, at 334 14th Avenue South, has graciously offered space for an overnight warming centre opening today from 4pm to 9:30am. The warming centre is to remain open through until Friday morning (December 23, 2022).
This space is available above and beyond the existing shelter located at the Travelodge, operated by BC Housing, which also provides a place for those in need to get out of the cold.
