Cranbook
I am proud to announce that I am running for re-election as Trustee on the Board of Education, School District 5 (Southeast Kootenay). I bring the essential elements of experience and focus to this position.
I was born and raised in Cranbrook, the son of a teacher-administrator on my father’s side and the compassion to see the value in everyone from my mother. Following my experience in post-secondary education, I started teaching in the West Kootenay and for the following 25 years in this district.
During my 40 years of service in education, I have been granted the responsibilities of: Teacher, Coach, Administrator, Director and Trustee. I have worked on District and Provincial Committees and throughout this experience, supported programs and opportunities which focused on the success and value of all learners - my mother’s gift.
I have worked collaboratively with other stakeholders in education to ensure that budgets and resources are allocated in a fiscally responsible manner, addressing the needs of all students and staff - my father’s gift.
Please turn out and vote - an experienced and informed Board of Education will allocate resources, staff and develop policy to support and celebrate the success of all learners, in all communities, of School District 5.
