Joanna and I moved to Cranbrook 33 years ago to raise a family and continue with our careers.
Now retired, my role in public health was in community health and safety.
Our children and 3 grandchildren all live in Cranbrook.
I have been a volunteer coach for my children’s sports, I was active in Kinsmen and now a long time Rotarian.
On my 8 years on Council, I have been active on many Boards, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Social Planning Society, the Advisory Planning Committee, the Cranbrook History Centre, Cranbrook Tourism Board, and the Regional District of East Kootenay Board of Directors.
The challenges for next Council will be to address our homeless and crime, our housing needs, and enhancing our lifestyle vibrancy to attract visitors, new workers, and professionals (doctors).
Next Council, we will also be making important decisions on our future:
How do we plan our community?
How do we revitalize our downtown?
How do we enhance our active transportation? How do we become a destination tourist location?
How do we address climate action?
I am all in on making Cranbrook a growing, prosperous, and livable community to raise your family, start a business and retire not just for today but for my grandchildren.
