Each household will be provided one (1), 240 litre garbage cart. For residents who would like a smaller, 120 litre garbage cart, please complete your request through our 311 app or contact us by phone by calling 311.
No other garbage cans or receptacles can be used for curbside garbage collection.
City garbage collectors do not reach into the carts to pull garbage/refuse out that has become compacted.
Unacceptable Items for Pick up by the City Garbage Collector:
- Trade refuse (building materials); stones; earth; manure; excrement; night soil, tree stumps; roots; turf; earth or waste that may accumulate as a result of building operations.
- Any materials or substances that will not be accepted at the transfer station.
- Any highly combustible, flammable, or explosive material, liquid or waste.
- Bulky items.
Additional garbage in excess of the 240 litres must be disposed of at the Cranbrook Transfer Station, located at 2405 22nd Street North, by the resident.
Garbage should be placed out for collection by 7:30 am. Routes and pick-up times may be changed without notice.
Waste Collection Set Out / Set Back Service for Medical Reasons Application
This application is for Cranbrook residents who have a permanent physical disability and are unable to move a garbage collection to and from the collection point
