Cranbrook, BC (February 3, 2022) – The City is assisting residents affected by a water leak in the apartment complex on the corner of 1st St. South and 17th Avenue South, across from the Street Angels building in Balment Park.
Crews with Public Works attended on Sunday and isolated the leak was found inside the apartment property. A contractor hired by the property owner is on site currently working to make the necessary repairs. As the water has been shut off for several days due to the repairs required inside the property, the residents have not had water. The City is assisting the residents by providing bottled water.
When a water leak is suspected or found, City crews will attend and shut off your water supply in order to determine where the problem lies. If the leak is determined to be on private property, the property owner is responsible for repairs, at their own cost. If the problem is on City property, repairs will be made by City crews at the City’s cost. This water leak is inside the apartment private property and is the responsibility of apartment owner.
