Cranbrook, BC (September 14, 2022) – Monday, September 19, 2022 has been formally designated by the Federal Government as a National Day of Mourning marking the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In order to observe this National Day of Mourning, the City of Cranbrook will be closing all of its offices and facilities, pausing all of its non-essential services Monday, September 19, 2022, and reopening as usual on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
All essential services will remain open. Garbage and recycling collection will continue to operate as scheduled with its regular service on Monday, September 19.
Because of this change, the regularly scheduled meeting of City Council set for Monday, September 19, 2022 has been moved to Tuesday, September 20, 2022 @ 6pm. The public is welcome to attend in person at the Manual Training School or may watch the proceedings live at www.cranbrook.ca/livestream.
Additionally, the Public Hearing for the 6th Street NW Road Closure and Disposition Bylaw No. 4076, 2022 will be rescheduled to the regular meeting of Monday, October 3, 2022.
