Cranbrook, BC (December 1, 2021) – To help improve snow removal operations in residential areas of Cranbrook while reducing potential damage or tipping of our curbside recycling carts, we are asking residents to place recycling carts out by 7:30am on the morning of your collection day.
“Placing your carts out the morning of your collection date is important because it allows for our evening snowplow operators to do the best job possible,” says Katelyn Pocha, Project Manager for the City of Cranbrook. “For this same reason, we ask residents to bring their recycling carts back in as soon as possible after they are collected.”
During the winter months, please do not leave recycling carts on the snowbank(s) or behind snow piles or berms on your collection day. Instead, place your cart in front of the berm on the roadway with the wheels against the berm or curb, with the arrows on the lid facing the street. Place your cart at least 3 feet away from vehicles or other obstructions to ensure your recycling is collected.
