Cranbrook, BC (April 8, 2016) – The City’s annual flushing operations of both our water mains and inspection of our fire hydrants continues. Work began in late March and is expected to continue until at least September.
“Once crews visit your neighbourhood and do their flushing and hydrant testing operations, it kicks up sediment in the water lines, which makes your water dirty,” says Chris Zettel, Communications Officer for the City of Cranbrook. “The look of the water is certainly not appealing, but the line flushing is important to make sure the water that reaches your home is of the best quality possible.”
It is important to know that this discolouration is not a public health concern. If you find your water is dirty, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear.
The City of Cranbrook apologizes for any inconvenience this work is causing and appreciates the patience of all the residents affected.
