Cranbrook, BC (May 2, 2019) – 583 residents cast their ballots Wednesday in the first of two advance polls in the City of Cranbrook’s by-election.
In comparison, 370 ballots were cast in the first advance poll in the 2017 by-election held to fill the vacancy left when then-Councillor Tom Shypitka was elected as the Kootenay-East MLA. 483 first advance poll ballots were cast in the 2018 general municipal election held in October.
The second and final advance poll is set for Wednesday May 8 from 8am to 8pm at the Parkview Pavilion Senior Centre on 17th Avenue South. General voting is Saturday May 11 from 8am to 8pm at the Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort.
A reminder that special voting opportunities are available for admitted patients or facility residents on Friday May 10 at the following locations and times:
- Joseph Creek Village (9:00am – 2:00pm)
- Scott Villa (9:15am – 9:45am)
- Dr. F.W. Green Memorial Home (10:00am – 11:45am)
- East Kootenay Regional Hospital (1:00pm - 4:30pm)
- Joseph Creek Care Village (2:00pm – 5:30pm)
- Mountain View Village (5:00pm - 5:45pm)
