Following a Heat Warning issued by Environment Canada for the majority of British Columbia, the City of Cranbrook is reminding residents to bring their own water to City parks and facilities.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City closed its various water fountains and bottle fill stations around the community. Given the current pandemic restrictions, those water stations remain closed. Residents should be well prepared by bringing their own water to ensure they remain hydrated during the heat wave.
As Environment Canada is forecasting daytime highs between 35 and 40 degrees starting Saturday, June 26, 2021 through to Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the City is encouraging residents to be prepared.
