Cranbook
My name is Allie (Allison) Kostiuk (she/her). I am a teacher for the University of Victoria teacher education program in Cranbrook and a parent of two elementary-aged boys. I am running for School Trustee in SD5 because I believe this role benefits from diverse voices and lived experience. I bring both parent and educator perspectives to help make informed, student-centred decisions, and I stay current on education trends and issues.
Born and raised in the Kootenays, I have lived in Cranbrook for the past 15 years. I hold a Bachelor of Education (UVic, 2011) and a Master’s in Educational Technology (UBC, 2017). I have taught in SD5 and SD6 in grades 2–3, K–5 music, and technology. I currently teach reading and technology courses for UVic’s teacher education program in Cranbrook and work closely with local schools and teachers.
I am committed to fostering safe, inclusive schools and classrooms that engage all learners, including those with diverse needs. I am passionate about literacy, social and emotional learning (mental health), environmental education, and educational technology.
