I grew up here.
I played hockey here.
I moved away.
I came back.
I'm now a candidate for City Council.
I don’t own a suit. If you want to vote for an empty suit, check out one of the other guys.
We all know what’s wrong with Cranbrook. The roads are awful, and the sidewalks are worse. The city has only grown, yet we’ve taken out sidewalks and traffic lights, and wasted money drawing bike lanes and adding dividers to prevent left turns. We say we want a future here for our children and grandchildren, but there’s less playground equipment in Rotary Park and Gyro Park. We got rid of the baseball fields in Balment Park and Baker Park long ago. Kinsmen Park doesn’t even have soccer nets anymore. There hasn’t been public skating in the Memorial Arena since the repairs were completed in 2024, meanwhile, skating prices at Western Financial Place doubled.
Cranbrook City Council raised property taxes more than 25% since 2022, and are expected to raise taxes again next year. They increased their salary by 12% in 2019. City Hall’s payroll increased by 21% since 2022.
