I was born in Cranbrook and have spent my life connected to the people, communities and Kootenay way of life that make this region home. I’m married with three children and two grandchildren and have more than 40 years of experience as a business owner in finance, real estate and local enterprise.
I currently serve as a director with Habitat for Humanity, the Fresh Start Collaborative and the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce. My public service experience includes roles as a city councillor, regional director, hospital district director and two-term MLA for Kootenay East. During my time in the legislature, I served as a shadow minister, caucus chair and deputy chair of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services.
My platform is built around six priorities:
- Public Safety — Support proactive policing, stronger RCMP and municipal coordination, effective bylaw enforcement and safer public spaces.
- Local Business & Economic Development — Support local businesses, reduce unnecessary regulatory barriers, encourage investment and strengthen Cranbrook’s commercial and industrial tax base.
- Housing Growth & Infrastructure — Support responsible growth while ensuring roads, water, sewer, drainage, parks and other infrastructure keep pace.
- Accountable City Hall & Taxpayer Value — Improve transparency, responsible budgeting and value for taxpayers.
- Civic Pride & Community Connection — Support volunteers, recreation, arts and culture, youth and seniors while improving public spaces.
- Regional Leadership & Provincial Advocacy — Build stronger relationships with regional, Indigenous and senior governments to advance Cranbrook’s priorities.
I’m focused on practical leadership, responsible growth and a strong Cranbrook community.
