Cranbook
Hello, Cranbrook! My name is Shaun Penner, and I am running for Cranbrook City Council because I believe in this community and want to play a greater role in helping it move forward.
Born and raised in Cranbrook, I’ve always believed community is something you contribute to, not simply somewhere you live.
For much of the past 16 years, I’ve volunteered as a high school and youth basketball coach. I have also founded Evolve EK Hoops, a local non-profit youth basketball club which serves hundreds of kids in our community. I have also had the chance to volunteer with Special Olympics, along with many other community groups and non-profits across a variety of sectors.
Now, it’s time to take the next step in community service and seek a seat on Cranbrook City Council.
As a candidate for Council, my priorities include advocating for more housing opportunities; strengthening our local economy and creating opportunities for responsible growth and an expanded tax base; maintaining safe, clean and welcoming neighbourhoods and public spaces; and supporting youth, recreation and culture.
A vote for Shaun Penner is a vote for an independent voice at the council table. Someone willing to tackle the tough issues, listen to residents, do the research and make informed decisions in the best interest of Cranbrook and Cranbrook residents.
