Cranbook
My name is Lynnette Wray, and I’m running to be the next Mayor of Cranbrook.
I was elected to Cranbrook City Council in 2022, and I am proud to have served my full four-year term, working hard to serve our community to the very best of my abilities — I will bring this same dedication and work ethic to the role of Mayor.
I have served on the board of StellerVista Credit Union since 2016, including my role as Board Chair for the past four years, providing governance leadership to our seven branches, 100 employees, 18,000 members, and over $750 million in assets. Since 2017, I have led the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies as the Executive Director, growing assets from $2 million to over $6 million and granting over $1.8 million to hundreds of non-profit projects. Both of these roles focus on responsible stewardship of financial resources and excellent governance leadership — this is what I will bring to the role of Mayor.
As Mayor, I will focus on community affordability and vibrancy, encourage independence and diverse perspectives around the Council table, and actively collaborate with community partners. Together, let’s make Cranbrook the best small city in BC and the best place to call home!
