Cranbook
My name is Bruce Murdoch. My family and I have called Cranbrook home for nearly 40 years. We saw this community’s beauty and potential when we arrived, and we remain enthusiastic about its future.
I am running for City Council because Cranbrook needs both responsible day-to-day governance and clear, long-term planning. My decisions will be guided by what is best not only for today’s voters, but also for young people not yet old enough to vote and for the generations who will call Cranbrook home after us.
I bring practical experience in financial management, budgeting, economic development, housing, and land use. My homebuilding background, together with two terms on the Advisory Planning Commission, has given me firsthand understanding of how planning, infrastructure, housing supply, and development decisions affect the whole community.
My priorities include public safety, dependable public works, housing, responsible growth, and support for arts and culture. These are all connected. Safe neighbourhoods, well-maintained infrastructure, attainable housing, a welcoming business environment, and a vibrant cultural life help make Cranbrook a community where people want to live, work, invest, and raise families.
I will be an independent, prepared, and constructive voice on Council. I will work to bring people together around solutions, promote efficient spending and smart capital
investments, welcome new residents and businesses, and strengthen Cranbrook’s tax base through well-planned growth and economic opportunities.
Most importantly, I encourage everyone to vote. Our democracy depends on informed, engaged citizens.
