Cranbrook, BC (September 10, 2020) – A broken water valve stemming from the Innis Avenue water main installation project will impact water service to all Innis Avenue properties Thursday afternoon, between 8th Street South and Wattsville Road.
Crews are working to make the repair as quickly as possible, but it may be until late Thursday afternoon or early Thursday evening before water service is restored to all the affected properties.
Water customers affected may experience some water discolouration once service is restored, as sediment in the water lines gets kicked up. This is not a health issue. Please run your cold water tap until your water runs clear.
Innis Avenue remains closed to all through traffic for the duration of the water main installation project, which is expected to wrap up late Friday. Local access remains available to residents on Innis Avenue. Please continue to follow and obey all signage in place and any direction provided by workers on the ground.
The City of Cranbrook apologizes to all residents and water customers affected by this issue. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work and these repairs are made.
